This week saw lots of skips pop up around Tinshill for the summer clean up day. As ward councillors, we paid for skips to be dotted around the Tinshills so residents could bring unwanted and broken items to dispose of.
Housing officers cut back overhanging hedges, making footpaths more accessible, and the grass verges were edged making everything look much neater.
We also delivered leaflets to lots of residents, letting them know about the day and how to contact us if they need extra help with issues.
The day was a huge success, with the skips overflowing and the councils cleaner neighbourhoods team making several pick ups to collect everything.
Please remember the bulky waste collection service is now free - you can book a collection for up to 3 large items free of charge
We'll be holding more clean up days around Weetwood over the coming months.
