We've been really pleased by the work council officers and police have been doing to tackle the Otley Run, something we've made a long term priority and have brought to fruition through collaboration and working across the community. Equally investment in the 'Off Road Bike Team' to tackle crime by people riding on electric bikes has been very welcome!
If you have concerns about local crime we really encourage you to join us at Police and Community Together (PACT) meetings. The next ones are:
Tuesday 8 October, 7-8pm at the Welcome In Community Centre (55 Bedford Drive)
Wednesday 9 October, 7-8pm at the St Chad's Parish Centre (Otley Road)
Here's the local police team's latest note on crime stats in Weetwood:
Notes & Trends:
Theft from Motor vehicle – 4 of the offences were targeting tools from vans, mainly by drilling into door locks. 1 offence was targeting a vehicle left insecure.
Burglary – 2 of the offences (across the past 2 weeks) were targeting houses to steal vehicles, however, they are spread out both in terms of date & location, so not believed to be linked.
