Construction of the Lawnswood roundabout improvement scheme is expected to begin in spring 2025. We're sharing an update about that below.
If you know anyone who wants to keep up to date with the scheme please do share this link with them so they can sign up to our weekly email newsletter.
Before the scheme goes ahead there needs to be a legal order called a TRO (traffic regulation order), which is about changing the markings, parking restrictions, and speed limits for the area affected on the A660 and the A6120 ring road.
The TRO includes:
Waiting and loading restrictions at the kerbside
Parking and loading restrictions within proposed segregated cycle tracks, as well as in the footways adjacent
Reduced speed limit on A6120
Slight extension of existing southbound bus lane on A660 south of the roundabout
New bus stop clearways
All these proposed orders are required to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the proposed signalised roundabout, to improve road safety on the ring road and to prevent obstructions to buses accessing bus stops.
There is a consultation regarding the proposed TRO and if you wish to make any comments, please send to morgan.tatchellevans@leeds.gov.uk or call 0113 3783655.
This consultation relates to the TRO specifically and not the scheme as a whole. You can take a closer look at the proposed TRO here:
