A seemingly small but really crucial campaign victory.
We've been working with the residents of Lady Ida Lodge, the Oak Park estate, and Alex Sobel's team to get a safe walking path from the lodge up to Hospital Lane restored.
Chartford Homes agreed to make the change after we met them on site to help understand how it affects residents.
The path is now in place, meaning the residents don't need to wait the 18 months for the building work to be done before they can walk up to Otley Old Road to visit the GP, go to local cafes and shops, get the 6 bus, or simply go for a nice walk in the woods.
Until now they had to walk down and onto Silk Mill Way, adding a difficult hill and a lot of distance to the walk. This left some residents stuck for much of the week unless they could arrange a lift.
